My Grandparents’ War Thursday, 9pm, C4
As Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, Kit Harington was no stranger to intrigue and battlefield heroics, and he finds both loom large in his family history when he explores his grandparents’ experiences in World War Two for C4’s My Grandparents’ War.
The 35-year-old discovers that his paternal grandfather, John Harington, who had joined the Navy in 1939, was recruited by Naval Intelligence two years later and sent to Jamaica.
