When a teacher starts to hear a mysterious noise in BBC1’s intriguing drama The Listeners, the fallout proves devastating.
Adapted by Jordan Tannahill from his own novel, the four-part series centres on Claire Kutty (Rebecca Hall), who teaches English at a secondary school and lives a suburban life with her husband Paul (Prasanna Puwanarajah) and their daughter Ashley (Mia Tharia).
When Claire suddenly detects a humming sound that her loved ones are unable to pick up, it appears to be linked to other worrying symptoms, including nosebleeds and nightmares. As medical tests fail to pinpoint a cause, Claire feels increasingly unsettled.
