NEW DRAMA
The Buccaneers
From Wed 8 November, Apple TV+
Fans of Bridgerton and The Gilded Age won’t want to miss Apple TV+’s new period romance The Buccaneers, based on American author Edith Wharton’s unfinished final novel.
The lavish eight-parter – which launches with a triple bill from 8 November, followed by a new episode weekly – centres on a group of fun-loving and wealthy American girls who arrive in England in the 1870s in the hope of securing aristocratic husbands.
Accompanying the girls on their adventures is New York socialite Mrs St. George, played by Mad Men star Christina Hendricks, who keeps a keen eye on her two daughters, Nan and Jinny, and their friends Conchita, Lizzy and Mabel.
