It’s been a spectacular 18 months for Britain’s gymnasts, with medal success for both our men and women at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and European Championships.
This week, they arrive at the World Championships in Liverpool with Joe Fraser, Jake Jarman, Alice Kinsella and twins Jessica and Jennifer Gadirova all having realistic medal ambitions. Olympic hero Max Whitlock is taking a break this year, and will be joining fellow Olympian Beth Tweddle and host Matt Baker for the BBC’s coverage from the Liverpool Arena.
We caught up with Tweddle, 37, an Olympic medallist and three-times world champion, for the low-down on the event…
