SOMEWHERE BOY SUN-WED, TIMES VARY, C4 DRAMA (BOX SET, ALL 4)

It isn’t unusual for a parent to want to wrap their child in cotton wool. But in C4’s new drama Somewhere Boy, a grieving father is taking extreme measures in a bid to keep his son safe…

Airing in double bills from Sunday to Wednesday, the eight-part series centres around 18-year-old Danny (Deadwater Fell’s Lewis Gribben), whose mum died when he was a baby and who has since been living in isolation at a remote farmhouse with his dad, Steve (Versailles star Rory Keenan).

Led to believe that monsters are waiting to take him away if he steps foot outside, Danny’s life is turned upside down when Steve dies suddenly and he’s taken to live with his stressed-out aunt, Sue (Mum’s Lisa McGrillis), and her shy son, Aaron (The Teacher’s Samuel Bottomley), in Leeds, where he must begin navigating a world he didn’t know existed.

Here, Lewis and Rory give TV Times their take on the story…
