FREDDIE FLINTOFF’S FIELD OF DREAMS n TUE, 8PM, BBC1 FACTUAL

When he was growing up on a council estate in Lancashire, Andrew 'Freddie' W Flintoff dreamt of playing cricket for his country and leading them to victory in The Ashes against Australia.

The Top Gear presenter went on to achieve those ambitions, representing England from 1998 to 2009 and serving on the team as both captain and vice-captain.

But state-school-educated Freddie believes the chances of anyone from his home city of Preston following in his footsteps are slim, as the majority of the current England squad attended private school.
