David Morrissey has lit up our screens with acclaimed dramatic roles in the likes of Sherwood and The Long Shadow, but in new BBC3 comedy Daddy Issues, the star shows his funny side as an inept father trying to support his pregnant daughter.

The six-part series sees David play Malcolm, who is living in a run-down bedsit since his wife Davina (Happy Valley’s Susan Lynch) left him. But when Malcolm’s party-loving daughter Gemma (Sex Education’s Aimee Lou Wood) finds out she’s having a baby following a fling, she only has her dad to rely on, and she reluctantly asks him to be her flatmate. And as she adjusts to the prospect of motherhood, however, it soon becomes clear that her witless dad also needs taking care of.
