Paul’s motor neurone disease diagnosis is taking its toll on his loved ones, but as the stress mounts, it’s Daniel Osbourne’s young son Bertie, of all people, who ends up a casualty.
As the week kicks off, hope and positivity are the buzzwords. Aware that Paul will need specialist equipment as his symptoms worsen, Gemma and Bernie host a chilli-eating competition in the Bistro to raise funds.
The hotly contested event is a huge success and Paul is handed £800, but later in the evening, Billy and Bernie start debating the benefits of religion versus ‘healing’ crystals. Paul snaps – when all’s said and done, neither is going to give him his life back – and he heads off to the Chariot Square Hotel for some peace and quiet.
