I’M A CELEBRITY... SOUTH AFRICA

NEW MONDAY-FRIDAY, 9PM, ITV1 ENTERTAINMENT

The campmates returning for a brand-new series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me out of Here! are all well-known personalities from previous series who made it through the hardships of life in the Australian bush. But how will they fare in a different setting – South Africa?

Hosted by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, ITV1’s I’m a Celebrity... South Africa is an ‘all-star version’ featuring memorable contestants from the past 22 series of the show.

‘This is I’m a Celebrity as you’ve never seen it before,’ says Ant, 47. ‘That’s because we’ve taken some of your favourite faces from the last 20 years and sent them back into camp – only this time that camp is in South Africa. They all survived the Australian jungle – but this is a whole new ball game.’

Among the much-loved campmates embarking on an African adventure are ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell, who was crowned king of the jungle in 2003, former royal butler Paul Burrell, who was runner-up in 2004, and Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder, who was runner-up in 2010.

But past success will mean nothing as the programme makers promise that the challenges will be bigger and tougher and the environment harsher and more unforgiving this time around.
