SIMON GREGSON on the joy and challenges of finding his inner diva
Life's a DRAG!

QUEENS FOR THE NIGHT NEW SATURDAY, 8.30 PM, ITVENTERTAINMENT

Simon Gregson is brimming with excitement when TV Times joins him for a chat about his glittering new role as a drag performer! Hosted by Lorraine Kelly, ITV's one-off spectacular Queens for the Night sees Simon and five more famous faces each paired with a mentor, who'll guide them through the art of drag and help them hone a specialist talent, such as magic or singing.

They'll then be given a drag makeover and perform for a live studio audience and a celebrity judging panel made up of comedian Rob Beckett, RuPaul's Drag Race favourite Courtney Act, Spice Girl Melanie C, and West End star Layton Williams, before one is crowned champion.

Here, Coronation Street star Simon, 48, tells us about unleashing his inner drag queen...

What can you reveal about your drag alter ego?

Her name’s Bidet Bardot. We came up with quite a few names for her, but we were told absolutely not [on those], and I realise now why – the stuff we suggested was not really appropriate!

She’s based on a Cheshire WAG, and she’s a bit gobby. She thinks rather a lot of herself, she believes she’s right up there with Posh Spice!

Have you dabbled in drag before?
