THE FAMOUS FIVE
SUNDAY, 5.15PM, CBBC, & HOLIDAY MONDAY, 2PM, BBC1 DRAMA
Circuses, clowns and a conundrum involving a priceless diamond are at the heart of a new adventure for mystery-solving siblings Julian, Dick and Anne along with their cousin George and Timmy the dog as BBC drama The Famous Five, inspired by Enid Blyton’s beloved characters, returns for a third outing this week.
Following stories The Curse of Kirrin Island in 2023 and Peril on the Night Train earlier this year, new feature-length case The Eye of the Sunrise – which is also available on BBC iPlayer from Saturday 25 May begins when nature-loving tomboy George (played by Diaana Babnicova) stumbles across a runaway magician known as the Great Supremo (A Town Called Malice's Jason Flemyng) while walking Timmy in the woods.
It turns out the showman has escaped from a psychiatric unit headed up by Sir Lincoln Aubrey (Renegade Nell's Art Malik).
