MEN UP

NEW FRIDAY 29 DECEMBER, 9PM, BBC1 DRAMA

The remarkable true story of one of the world's first medical trials for the drug that would become Viagra provides the inspiration for new BBC1 drama Men Up.

Years before the little blue pill' changed the lives of millions of people across the world, a group of ordinary, middle-aged Welsh men took part in clinical tests at Swansea's Morriston Hospital in 1994 for a pioneering drug to treat erectile dysfunction.

The 90-minute drama, written by Matthew Barry (Industry), follows five fictional characters as they bravely sign up for the trials in a bid to get their respective lives and relationships back on track.

But their individual journeys soon take them to some very emotional places, causing them to reassess everything.
