LOVE YOUR WEEKEND SUN, 9.30AM, ITV1 LIFESTYLE
Alan Titchmarsh is used to sharing the spotlight with amazing animals on ITV1’s Love Your Weekend, but few have moved him as much as his latest ‘pawtner’, trainee guide dog Titch!
Viewers saw the presenter become emotional on the Sunday-morning show three weeks ago when he was first introduced to the then-nineweek-old golden retrieverLabrador-cross puppy, who has been named after him by sight-loss charity Guide Dogs.
With Titch set to become a series regular, so we can follow the incredible journey that puppies go on to become a fully fledged guide dog, the cute canine visits the show’s Hampshire base again this week with his volunteer ‘puppy raisers’ Alan and Jacqui Falder, who will spend the next 12 months helping him learn the basic skills he needs for the role.
Georgina Wingham, a puppy- development adviser at Guide Dogs, will also be on screen putting Titch through his playful paces during a special class designed to build his confidence.
‘I’m surrounded by puppies like Titch pretty much all day – it’s the best job in the world,’ says Georgina, 32, as, here, she joins TV Times for an exclusive interview…
Alan Titchmarsh seems pretty smitten by his new four-legged companion!
