NADIYA’S SIMPLE SPICES
WEDNESDAY, 8 PM, BBC2 COOKERY
Nadiya Hussain is the queen of flavour combinations, so it’s little wonder she can’t wait to showcase how spices can transform everyday family food into mouth-watering meals for a new BBC2 series.
‘People often think spices are complicated, time-consuming and hard work,’ says the 2015 winner of The Great British Bake Off, as TV Times catches up with her for a chat about Nadiya’s Simple Spices. ‘But they can be really easy, and this programme is a great way of showing that.’
Over the course of the six-parter, Nadiya will champion her eight essential spices (see our panel, above) plus a special combination mix, with each instalment focusing on a different theme. This week’s opener is Feel Good Food, which sees her whip up a turmeric seafood broth and a cinnamon-drenched cheesecake.
