THE EX-WIFE
NEW SUNDAY, 9PM, CHANNEL 5 THRILLER
A former flame proves a fly in the ointment for a newly- wed couple in Channel 5’s latest psychological drama, The Ex-Wife. But as jealousy and paranoia take hold, is something more sinister going on?
Based on the 2018 novel of the same name by bestselling author Jess Ryder and adapted by Downton Abbey star Catherine Steadman, the four-parter centres around headstrong graphic designer Tasha (Showtrial’s Céline Buckens), who embarks on a whirlwind romance with an older man, wealthy London media executive Jack (See star Tom Mison).
When Tasha falls pregnant, an ecstatic Jack marries her and so begins what should be an idyllic new life with their baby daughter, Emily. It’s soon clear, however, that Jack’s childhood sweetheart and ex-spouse, interior designer Jen (New Amsterdam’s Janet Montgomery), who has been struggling to conceive, has no intention of leaving them alone.
TV Times caught up with Tom, 41, and Céline, 27, for an exclusive interview to get their take on the drama…
