Baby heartbreak

Whitney Dean and Zack Hudson are anxiously awaiting further hospital tests to confirm if their unborn baby is at risk from a genetic disorder called Edwards' syndrome. If the baby is diagnosed with the rare medical condition, it may not survive...

This week, Whitney and Zack return to Walford General to get the test results, and their worst fears are confirmed when their baby is officially diagnosed with Edwards' syndrome.

Now, they face the devastating dilemma over whether to risk continuing with the pregnancy...

Overwhelmed

It's all too much for Zack, who's also struggling to deal with a life-changing diagnosis of his own: he's HIV-positive.

As heartbroken Zack tries to process the baby's prognosis, he feels the walls are closing in and can't face spending any more time at the hospital.

However, Zack's toughtalking older sister, Sharon, isn't about to let him abandon mum-to-be Whitney during her time of need.

After getting some encouraging words from both his sibling and local legal eagle Eve Unwin, barman Zack realises he can't run away from his responsibility and that he belongs by Whitney's side.

Zack tries to convince Whit that she's not to blame for what has happened and vows to support her over whatever she decides about their baby's future.

However, it's a heartbreaking lifeor-death decision... What will Whitney and Zack decide to do?
