There are more traumas and tense stand-offs in Belfast as the cops from Blackthorn Police Station face some deadly new villains as hit BBC1 drama Blue Lights returns.
The action picks up a year after the events of the first series, which saw Constable Gerry Cliff (Richard Dormer) being gunned down in the street.
'Even my dad called me up and asked me why they had to kill Gerry!' says Sian Brooke, who plays Constable Grace Ellis. 'The response to his death was overwhelming because he was a character who clicked with so many people.'
