STACEY DOOLEY SLEEPS OVER USA

Wednesday, 10pm, W Factual

When couple Kennedy and Mya first met and fell in love 12 years ago, they weren't just different people, they were both different genders, too.

Kennedy was born a woman, but transitioned to a man after giving birth to their two sons, Carson and Mason, now 11 and nine. Mya, who was born a man, transitioned to a woman around the same time.

'Many people still have a rigid idea of what a mum and dad do, but Kennedy and Mya have swapped roles,' says presenter Stacey Dooley, who visits the one-of-a-kind family in their home in rural Virginia in this week's second episode.

'I want to find out how Kennedy and Mya transitioning has affected their relationship, and their family and friends,' says Stacey. 'And they're so generous with what they were willing to offer because much of it is deeply personal and we know that sometimes the conversation around the trans community can be weaponised against them.'

As the couple open up about their physical journey, they also reveal how their sons have handled Mum becoming Dad and vice versa.
