At 88, you wouldn't imagine Dame Mary Berry is a secret camper. But for the first episode in a new series, she and her old Bake Off friend Mel Giedroyc enjoy a weekend under canvas, while cooking some delicious meals on a camping stove!
Across six episodes, the TV chef helps some well-known friends who are all struggling with different cooking dilemmas. For Mel, it's feeling stuck in a rut when it comes to weekend meals.
'Mel and I have been friends for over 20 years and I know she loves spending her weekends outdoors. I also know she's stuck cooking the same recipes,' says Dame Mary. 'So this little break is the perfect excuse to show her some easy weekend dishes.
Dame Mary starts by teaching Mel how to make a warming chestnut&nbsp;mushroom soup, before taking a back seat as Mel puts up the tent! Dame Mary also makes a chicken tartiflette, with reblochon cheese and Parma ham.
'It's a dish to rival the usual roast,' she says.
'But what's best is it all cooks in one pan!'
No camping trip is complete without a hot chocolate under the stars, and it seems Dame Mary knows a thing or two about survival skills.
'I was a Girl Guide. Many of the skills I've got, I learnt in the Guides,' she explains. I can do a clove hitch just like that!'
