SOMETIMES kids reveal a lot about their parents - and while Brooklyn Beckham may no longer be a kid in the true sense of the word, his latest comment (or non-comment) spoke volumes about the situation that exists between his mom and dad and the couple they once considered friends.
The eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham recently deftly sidestepped a question about Harry and Meghan which got people wondering all over again what happened to the bond once shared by the two power couples?
During an appearance on host Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live talk show, the 25-year-old was asked a question from the audience, "Growing up, which members of the royal family did you see the most often, especially since your family is friends with Harry and Meghan?"
Budding chef Brooklyn ignored the Sussex part completely.
"We probably hung out with the Prince of Wales the most often," he said.
"He's like the sweetest guy ever, really down to earth." And that was all it took for questions to start pouring in.
Brooklyn's dad has a history with both William and Harry, thanks to his sporting credentials and celebrity status.
He was once quoted as saying he has a "huge amount of respect for William and Harry because of what they've been through from a very young age".
"They're easy to get along with and they love their sport," he added.
But it seems any love that might once have existed between Posh and Becks and Harry and Meghan has been well and truly booted.
While there are a few reasons for the cooling of the friendship the biggest one seems to the Sussexes' public bashing of the royal family after they quit The Firm in 2020.
For the Beckhams, for whom family is everything, the betrayal was unacceptable.
"Both David and Victoria put great importance on family and would never, ever turn on their relations the way that Harry and Meghan did," royal author Richard Eden says.
