IT STARTED out as a hot fling one night at a birthday party – but time, love and a beautiful baby have seen this couple set the bar for marital bliss.
As far as couple goals go, Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson are it.
They’ve been happily married for four years and fans practically swoon every time the Canadian-born actor talks about his wife. Joshua (44) gives her the spotlight at red-carpet events and speaks of her with an adoration that’s unusual in Tinseltown.
Jodie (36) says her first teenage crush was the heart-throb character her husband played in the late ’90s and early noughties. “My first crush was Pacey from Dawson’s Creek,” she told W Magazine. “I was a young teenager. And now we’re a couple!”
They met at singer Usher’s 40th birthday bash. “I saw him before he saw me and when I saw him, I was like, ‘I want that,’ and then he saw me,” she told talk show host Seth Meyers. “I just pretended like I didn’t see him.
“He comes over and does this really cute, charming thing that he does just all night – he basically followed me around the party.”
Of course, both got what they wanted and Jodie loves their “one-night stand that turned into a three-year one-night stand”.
The British-born actress and model popped the question a year after they met.
“She asked me on New Year’s Eve,” Joshua recalls. “We were in Nicaragua. It was beautiful and incredibly romantic. We were walking down the beach and she asked me to marry her.
“I didn’t know she’d propose, but she was quite adamant, and she was right. This is the best choice I ever made.”
