Mad About LEOWOODALL

ELLE US|March 2025
Leo Woodall, the 28-year-old star of One Day and The White Lotus, has cornered the market on a very particular species of onscreen love interest—the guy who's so sweet and dreamy that there's got to be a catch, right? Now he's the May to Renée Zellweger's December in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

Mad About LEOWOODALL

ELLE: When did Bridget Jones enter your cultural universe?

LEO WOODALL: I'd seen the first movie on repeat over the years at Christmas. I just thought it was joyous. Just sweet and cozy.

ELLE: And now you're playing one of Bridget Jones's love interests. We're in a full-blown moment for movies about older women and younger men. What do you think is going on here?

LW: Yeah, I don't know! I mean, these relationships—they're not new. I couldn't tell you why it's suddenly happening now, but I know that the best thing about it is reminding everyone that people are just people. We can connect across planets and across genders—well, not planets, sorry, across the planet.

"These relationships-they're not new. The best thing about it is reminding everyone that people are just people. We can connect."
