Painter-turned-make-up artist Laura Mercier on launching her namesake brand in India
WORK OF ART

When Laura Mercier moved on from an art school to a beauty school, faces became her live canvas. In her work as a make-up artist, she unified both these artistic worlds and became known for an aesthetic that we now know as the 'clean girl' beauty. After years of working at magazines and with celebrities, Mercier launched her own brand in 1996, rooted in this very approach to beauty sheer finishes, dewy formulas, and radiant skin. It soon became one of the most sought-after brands, especially for its tinted moisturiser, concealer, and foundation. Now, as this OG clean beauty brand finally makes its foray into India, Mercier tells us more about it's philosophy, her make-up artistry, and more.
