HIS FAMILY JEWELS

A new era of men are primed and ready for audacious jewellery punctuated with coloured gems.

HIS FAMILY JEWELS

What was once the preserve of rare, special occasions is now de rigueur in everyday menswear—jewellery. Whether it is in minimalistic chains or bodacious brooches, the boys are embracing the trend in bolder and brighter ways, and interest is unlikely to wane any time soon.

In pop culture, musicians often parade their drip in the form of diamond-studded chains, bracelets or even grills, while the upper echelons of society are no stranger to sporting custom gem-set timepieces as crystal clear signals of power and wealth.

A-listers on the red carpet typically adopt this approach but a shift has been brewing over the last year. The 2024 Met Gala led the way with celebrities Jeff Goldblum rocking a trio of chunky brooches courtesy of Tiffany & Co., Sebastian Stan with Cartier’s Art Deco brooches unconventionally pinned to his cummerbund while Andrew Scott set tongues wagging with archival Boucheron pieces.

Observations across social media platforms also point towards a flurry of men who have taken to jewellery that prioritises style over a display of riches either through sophisticated stacks featuring designs more commonly associated with women’s fine jewellery or bespoke creations that are set with gems beyond the classic white diamond.
