Pandemonium ensued the moment South Korean actor Ji Chang-wook stepped on to the red carpet en route to the Centre Court of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur last November, as diehard fans clamoured to capture his arrival on their phones. Malaysia was lucky enough to be the heartthrob’s very first overseas appearance for Rado since his official appointment as brand ambassador last year.

Dressed in all black, Ji Chang-wook was in town to witness the launch of the new yellow-gold coloured DiaStar Original, before officiating the opening of the Rado boutique in the premier shopping mall, along with the brand’s chief executive officer Adrain Bosshard. BAZAAR was privileged to have sat down with both gentlemen for a chat regarding their partnership.

Why is Rado the right brand to represent who you are?

Just as I am an actor who shows many different sides of himself, Rado shows its personality through different materials and designs. I want to show different sides of myself through projects that I am passionate about, just like Rado does.
