In a sunlit studio nestled in the city of Antipolo, Acee Sayson-Paita, Juju Glow CEO and founder, arrived on set with her skin so flawless—sans makeup—it reflected the very essence of her brand. Her soft-spokenness belied her fierce determination.
Paita is on a mission: to unlock people’s inner radiance and restore their confidence through healthy, smooth, and bright skin. As we settled into our interview, her passion for her brand became palpable.
Juju Glow was born out of Sayson-Paita’s deep admiration for Korean skincare products. “Korean beauty has had a profound influence on the Philippines’ beauty industry,” Sayson-Paita explains. “I wanted to provide Filipinas with K-beauty-inspired quality products at competitive prices.” With an unwavering determination to challenge preconceived notions about Korean and local brands, Sayson-Paita set out to prove that Filipinos, too, can create products that can compete on a global scale.
But how does Juju Glow stand out amidst the sea of skincare brands? Sayson-Paita’s answer is simple yet powerful: understanding their unique selling proposition.
She elaborates, “Before launching a product, we ensure that we fully grasp what makes it special. Take our collagen drinks, Freshies, for instance. They not only provide an ideal taste experience reminiscent of fresh fruit, but they also combine skin protection from UV rays with anti-aging actives.”
