To describe the Prada Re-Nylon Collection as iconic is not an overstatement. The way Miuccia Prada has woven the pragmatic material into the modern lexicon of luxury — since it became one of the brand’s signature finishes in the 1970s — is nothing short of visionary.
In fact, all the production of Prada’s virgin nylon is now converted to regenerated nylon — created through the recycling and purification of plastic collected from the ocean, landfills, and textile fibre waste. Prada Re-Nylon yarn is produced circularly through a complex process of depolymerisation and re-polymerisation. The spirit of innovation encircling the movement is not losing momentum just yet, as seen in the consistent year-on-year development with UNESCO to bring the impact of this movement to new heights.
