Excerpts from a quick chat ...
You made your Bollywood debut with 'Goodbye'. How was the experience co-starring Amitabh Bachchan? I felt very intimidated by him. His aura is so magnifying and over the shooting I came to know a lot about him as a person. He has been so nice. Our relationship got closer and closer throughout the making of the film. so I'm just happy that I got to see his side while working with him. I am like a sponge. I absorb the talent of all my co-stars. Before and after Goodbye, Rashmika is so different!
After the success of 'Pushpa' are you more confident about Bollywood? Do you think that Hindi-speaking audiences recognise you better?
Well, the initial reason why I entered into the Hindi film industry probably was because of tremendous love. Every time I came to Mumbai, everyone used to ask me, 'why aren't you doing Hindi films, you are doing kannada, you are doing Tamil, why aren't you doing one for us'?
That's when the thought started. I used to go Live and quite often interacted with people through social media, honestly, it's because of my audience I started listening to and reading Hindi scripts. I have started my journey. Let's see where it takes.
How has the journey been in Bollywood so far?
I am very happy. I was a little nervous in the beginning but the love and warmth that I have received from Bollywood have been absolutely amazing and I am really grateful. I love Mumbai. It feels great.
Working in Hindi Film Industry, working in South Film Industry. How different or similar are they?
