Last year was tough for Sarah Ferguson. In June, she revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had undergone a single mastectomy. 'It's that feeling of demise,' she said of the diagnosis.
But famed for her witty humour, Sarah soon made light of the situation, calling her reconstructed breast 'Derek' and joking she was delighted when she found out doctors would be removing fat to recreate a breast. 'I thought, "At last!",' she said.
Then, last month she revealed a second shock diagnosis - at least one cancerous mole, removed during reconstructive surgery. Despite undergoing further checks for the malignant melanoma, she went into 2024 saying defiantly, 'I am 64 and just getting started.' With recent appearances on hit ITV daytime shows such as Loose Women and This Morning, plus taking part in the Royal Family's Sandringham Christmas Day walk for the first time in 30 years, it seems she is back.
