While all of us strive to be healthier, there are times when we find ourselves hitting a bit of a blip. And it seems telly presenter Lorraine Kelly is no different. Catching up with Woman recently, the star admitted that like a lot of us, she let her healthy routine go in December and has spent the first part of this year determined to get back to it.
‘A lot of us fall off the wagon at Christmas and I think that’s absolutely allowed,’ Lorraine, 63, explained. ‘Putting on a few pounds here and there, I’m not going to get too worried about that. It’s more about having energy and feeling fit. I want to be able to go out for big walks with the dogs and go up to Orkney for big long walks in the countryside and enjoy all of that.’
As an ambassador for WW (formerly Weight Watchers) last year, Lorraine lost 1st 7lb after turning to the company’s healthy eating plan. And for the past few months she’s been striving to eat more healthily again and cut back on her alcohol intake.
She explained, ‘I like to have the occasional wee glass of Prosecco or a few glasses of wine if we’re going out… It’s just all about doing it at your own pace. I don’t like diets – they just don’t work. You’re far better off to have a healthy eating plan.’
