Rising like a Phoenix

A metaphor for rebirth/rejuvenation

Rising like a Phoenix

The phoenix is an immortal bird that typically regenerates or otherwise is born again. While it is part of Greek mythology, it has analogues in different cultures such as Egypt and Persia. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor. This characteristic of rising from the ashes is mentioned in Greek, Egyptian and Persian cultures.

Yoga is like that Phoenix. You rise from weakness to increasing strength. In Yoga Sutra 2.13, Patanjali talks about the rebirth of the soul.
