Size H/8/5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Tapestry needle

GAUGE

16 sts=4 inches; 9 rows = 4 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Reverse single crochet is also known as knurl stitch or crab stitch.

Ch 23.

Row 1 (RS): De in 3rd ch from hook (beg 2 sk chs do not count as a st) and in each ch across, turn. (21 dc)

Row 2: Ch 2 (does not count as a st here and throughout), sk first st, bpde (see Stitch Guide) around each st across, hdc in top of turning ch, turn. (21 bpdc, 1 hdc)

Row 3: Ch 2, sk first st, [sk next 2 sts, fpdc (see Stitch Guide) around next 2 sts, working in front of last 2 sts, fpdc around 2 sk sts (cable made)] across, hdc in top of turning ch, turn. (5 cables, 1 hdc)

Row 4: Rep row 2.
