ATLANTA, Trevone Bay
Two beaches stretch out either side of the large bay windows at Atlanta, in Cornwall’s Trevone Bay. One is rocky, full of fascinating nds including a seawater pool accessible only once the tide is out. The other is of amber sand that arches around the cli towards the deep blue sea.
But matching the stellar views and salty air with its own aesthetic splendour is Atlanta’s interior design. The ve self-catering apartments, set into two shingle-covered coastal houses, are layered and decorative, boasting plumply cushioned loveseats, prettily patterned curtains and shiplap-lined kitchens by Neptune. This is coastal décor reimagined for contemporary seafarers. Each apartment comes with two bedrooms, modern bathrooms and log res for when all that brininess becomes too much.
The next cove along from Padstow, Trevone is known for its ocean-view walks, sur ng, the occasional seal sighting and its proximity to fantastic sh and chips. Now add to the list Atlanta, opened by the team who formerly owned what has become The Pig at Harlyn Bay, if that gives you an inkling as to the feeling of cosy luxury. Life here truly is a beach.
Sleeps four to eight, depending on the apartment, from £1,000 for three nights; atlantatrevonebay.com
