When the winter chill is in the air, we've got you covered

FEEL THE heat

To keep warm this winter, you can dress in layers, pop some comfy slippers on your feet, and rug up with a plush throw. Add some heating elements to your home and you'll be as snug as the proverbial bug in a rug.

FANS TO WARM YOU FROM HEAD TO TOE

Innovation is changing the concept of the ceiling fan; it's now a key player in proving winter warmth. Sophia Lake from Big Ass Fans says technology has certainly evolved and when it comes to heating your home, ceiling fans are leading the charge. "Smart phones, smart homes and now smart ceiling fans," she says. "New smart technology in ceiling fans such as temperature sensing and motions sensors have now changed how we view creating airflow at home, with customisable features to create a comfortable home, unique to the individual's cooling needs."

Sophia says Big Ass Fans' smart technology considers every aspect of comfort. "Our fans are able to run on a schedule to save energy, with environmental sensors to constantly monitor a room's condition to your ideal temperature for effortless comfort and cosiness," she adds.

Kate Wainman from Universal Fans agrees that there's plenty to get excited about in new technology in ceiling fans. "For example, the Hunter Pacific DC ceiling fans are soon to be available with PIXIE compatibility, one of the leading smart home systems in Australia, providing a sophisticated whole-home system," notes Kate.

There are many types of fans that are making their mark in the industry. For Kate, the standouts for energy efficiency are the Fanco Infinity DC ceiling fan, which consumes only 3.4W on the lowest speed. "For silent fans, the Aeratron and Fanco Studio ceiling fans are some of the quietest available," she enthuses. "For night time, the Fanco DC Smart range and Eglo Noosa have a very slow low speed for use in bedrooms."
