BURNS BEACH

This project is an entertainer's delight. The contemporary garden ticks all the boxes for style and relaxed liveability. Minimal maintenance is required, so the family have more time to enjoy their garden, and there's ample room to romp and run for the two resident dogs. There's also a sparkling swimming pool, spa and poolside outdoor room that's perfect for entertaining when friends drop by.

The project was designed by Debbie Taylor and Beverley Harrison of Mondo Landscapes. The design focus is on resort-style, indoor-outdoor living in the rear garden. Travertine features in the garden, which was built by eScape Landscape Architecture.

There is a flowing seamless connection and ease of access between spaces. A large travertine floating step leads you into the pavilion while another invites you into the spa. The flat roof pavilion is a cool inviting space with glass louvres to allow for airflow and a view of the bamboo, as well as a custom-designed kitchen with glass splashback and a Bose sound system.

Two poolside water walls feature in the project, each clad in natural matchstick stone. The spa was designed for year-round use. One outer corner of the spa is clad in striking bronze Bisazza mosaic tiles, which work well with the warm timber decking and pavilion posts. The lighting scheme adds a relaxed ambience and can be enjoyed indoors and out.

MIDDLE PARK

When the client briefed the designer on their garden design, their property was already an eye-catching house. It's an original four-storey Victorian terrace and was covered in a stunning layer of Boston ivy, giving it amazing street appeal. The rear garden also had great bones.
