<p><strong>AESTHETIC APPEAL </strong></p>
<p>&ldquo;The charm of concrete and cement oxide lies in their rawness and natural texture,&rdquo; says Priya, who moulds, shapes and customises both materials to various aesthetic effects. Concrete offers a minimal, industrial look and can be adapted to contemporary architecture styles, whereas cement oxide is more of a decorative finish crafted by individual artisans and masons with variation in texture and pattern.</p>

<p><strong>CREATIVE USES </strong></p>
<p>Both concrete and cement oxide can be coloured with different pigments. Concrete can also be polished to a smooth, glossy finish, which reflects light beautifully. Add pigmented cement mouldings to a polished concrete wall, and the mouldings will cast subtle shadows on the concrete surface, resulting in understated wall art. For an interesting accent wall, small concrete tiles or pieces can be mosaiced into unique patterns and designs.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Concrete and cement oxide do well in tropical climates, where they withstand the challenges of high humidity, temperature fluctuations and exposure to moisture,&rdquo; shares Rahul. Concrete requires minimal maintenance with occasional resealing to ensure its long-term durability and appearance. Cement oxide needs periodic repainting to maintain its protective coating. On a day-to-day basis, though, they&rsquo;re easy to clean, and can be lightly dusted or occasionally wiped with a damp cloth.</p>
