Tell us about yourself.
We’re a young couple in our early 30s working in the finance and pharmaceutical industries. Interior design and styling weren’t things we initially knew much about, but we quickly found ourselves “going down the rabbit hole” as we learned more while setting up our home. Even now, long after moving in, we’re still exploring and refining our space. This journey has been incredibly rewarding—it has helped us discover more about our personal tastes while deepening our appreciation for the many unique design styles out there.
What initially inspired your home’s design and style?
We didn’t base our home on a specific design style, but we knew we wanted a warm and inviting space to return to every day. At first, we explored different aesthetics—wabi-sabi, Scandinavian, and many more—but we never wanted to be confined to a single direction. To us, designing and styling our home is an ongoing creative process—there’s always an itch to change things up and try something new! When we were planning our space, home accounts on Instagram were slowly gaining traction in Singapore. That proved to be a great source of inspiration, helping us navigate and refine our design choices.
Could you walk us through your process of choosing the decor for your home?
We broke down our process into three main categories: mood, base, and furniture/decor.
For mood, we knew lighting would play a key role. Growing up in homes with bright white lights, we quickly decided that was a no-go for us. Instead, we opted for multiple small light sources around the house, creating a warm glow in the evenings when we're winding down from a long day. In fact, we rarely turn on our ceiling lights!
