When tasked with designing a four-bedroom Singapore apartment that would serve as both an occasional home and a gallery for a couple’s eclectic collections of artwork, lighting, furniture and other collectibles, Architology Interiors faced a unique challenge. The clients desired a space that contrasted with the building’s masculine, urban architecture, opting instead for a warm, inviting atmosphere. The design brief also called for an abode that would “pop” with bold colours and playful elements, while serving as a restful yet stylish environment suitable for hosting family and friends.
To achieve this vision, Architology Interiors used key furniture pieces from Roche Bobois, a French brand renowned for its statement pieces and creative flair. The decision to incorporate Roche Bobois furniture was driven by the brand’s ability to infuse spaces with vibrant energy and character, aligning perfectly with the clients’ desire for an invigorating and recharging home environment. The pieces’ bold designs and unique personas offered the perfect solution to creating a space that was both lively and sophisticated.
“Each Roche Bobois piece has a strong identity, and there was much joy for the client and us just by looking at them and appreciating their uniqueness,” says Bu Shukun, co-founder of Architology Interiors, who led the project. “These furniture pieces are almost like the articulated characters of a movie, coming together to form a complete story in a laissez-faire way.”
