To homeowners Anthony Chang and Clara Siow, their spacious new property already had many ideal qualities. The couple and their two children recently moved from an apartment to a 5,382 sq ft cluster house in Bukit Timah; they wanted a sanctuary perfect for entertaining guests in, and more room overall for the family of four.
They picked local design firm Another Level after coming across its work online; the couple were impressed by the elegant style and the meticulous attention to detail common to the company’s projects. The amicable design team patiently gathered information about the family’s likes and dislikes over several discussions, and identified the couple’s preference for midcentury modern designs after perusing moodboards and decor inspiration together.
“They wanted a blend of midcentury vibes and a contemporary edge,” shares TS Wong, founder of Another Level. “They like midcentury modern designs but did not want the look to be too elaborate or over the top. So we selected accent pieces with midcentury influences to pair with the home’s contemporary elements.” Wong, who is a veteran interior designer with over 17 years of experience in the trade, worked closely with his colleagues Rebecca Hartono and Ong Teik Chuan on this project.
