IT APPEARS to be nowadays, that it is in vogue to state unequivocally, a moral position on a complex situation that requires a tremendous amount of cognitive computation to solve. However, empathy is not an untrammelled moral virtue and needs to be carefully tempered by other virtues. Manifesting more pity than another person in any given moment does not automatically make you a morally superior individual, because there's as much error on the extreme spectrum of too much empathy just as there is on the opposite end of too little. Take for example, there were more civilian deaths in Germany during World War II than there were in the United Kingdom, should the war against the Nazis have stopped?
