RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT
Light therapy has long been found to work on your body from the inside out. Enter Emerald Laser, the first of its kind in South Africa. It has recently been launched at Terre Paisible Medical Rejuvenation & Spa as a non-invasive solution for body contouring and fat reduction. Unlike traditional methods such as liposuction or fat freezing, this laser technology promises results with no pain, no needles and no downtime. Sounds too good to be true, right?
The process begins with a relaxing welcome, followed by a selection of essential oils for you to choose from based on your preference. Once settled, the laser treats one area at a time for around 30 minutes, in which the therapist will give you a head- or foot massage to help you unwind and just enjoy the downtime.
The laser truly feels like nothing.
No warmth, no pain, no tingling sensation - it really makes you question if it is even doing anything to your body.
From what the specialist advises, the work is taking place inside your body. This green light penetrates the skin to stimulate fat cells, triggering them to release stored fat. The process is said to shrink the cells rather than destroy them, allowing the body to naturally eliminate the released contents through the lymphatic system. Once the laser time has lapsed, you follow up the session with some lymphatic drainage to help remove and excrete the excess that needs to be flushed out of your system.
