MABAL ANE, AL SO KNOWN AS ‘BOUGALUV,’ IS A TEN TIME SOUTH AFRICAN MUSIC AWARD WINNER, who is a successful solo artist in his own right and part of the legendary band TKZee, alongside Tokollo Tshabalala and Zwai Bala.

Not only a talented musician, he has also shown his determination and endurance by running the Comrades Marathon 12 times with a PB of 7h55.

In 2022, ISUZU partnered with Mabalane, co-founder of Move The Nation, as the brand ambassador under the BOLDpersonified umbrella. Move The Nation is an organisation that works to drive awareness and accessibility of running culture and healthy living, formed through the partnership of Peteni and Mabalane.

Known for producing robust bakkies, trucks, and the new mu-X SUV, ISUZU supports Mabalane’s BOLD-journey as he prepares for the half Ironman in Mossel Bay this November.

The refreshed mu-X is designed to be the vehicle for every day and everywhere, fitting well with Mabalane’s adventurous spirit. This will be the first time Mabalane takes on the challenging half Ironman. As he continues to shape himself as an athlete, the Ironman becomes a testament to his commitment to fitness and a healthier lifestyle.

GQ had a chat with Mabalane to discuss his partnership with ISUZU and how he prepared for the Ironman race.
