Crafting a collection as a love letter to a city is perhaps the most heartfelt way a designer can express their appreciation. In her latest collection, Mumbai-based designer Surily Goel views Jaipur through her rose-tinted glasses.
Named Jaipur, With Love, the collection boasts pearls, mirror work, clusters of motifs, and bright shades of pink an obvious choice for the city. "The old city's cheery shade of pink is etched in my memories and so is the iconic City Palace, where I celebrated several Holi. Inspired by this nostalgia, the motifs used in the collection are derived from the palace's sculptures and carvings." Goel shares.
