The exhibition GOLD by Yves Saint Laurent in Paris is is an on-going celebration of the couturier since his debut in the world of fashion. “It would have been more fun if they had put jeans on with my pieces. It would have been very ‘couture’...although, it has nothing to do with me,” says Betty Catroux, 76, style icon and legendary muse of Yves Saint Laurent, who also attended the exclusive vernissage of GOLD held at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris. Dedicated to the prince of fashion, the exhibition showcased the couturier’s golden creations from 1962 to 2002. The exhibition, which is on view until May 14, 2023, witnessed the who’s who of fashion in the French capital.
In the halls of the iconic address, 5 Avenue Marceau in Paris—where the House operated between 1974 and 2002—Madison Cox, President of the Fondation Pierre Bergé, Yves Saint Laurent, and Elsa Janssen, Directrice du Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris, saw all kinds of personalities. Drinking sparkling gold champagne, which perfectly accompanied the tone of the occasion, guests shared impressions, memories, and anecdotes about the exhibited pieces.
