His musical odyssey commenced at the tender age of seven, guided by his illustrious grandfather, Dattaram Valwaikar, a revered singer of Goa renowned for his bhajans. This familial connection to music ignited Akshay's lifelong quest for sonic perfection.
Under the guidance of mentors such as Prasad Khaparde and Rupesh Gavas at Kala Akademi, Akshay's talent flourished. Classical music became his muse, guiding him through intricate ragas and soulful melodies, enriching his musical tapestry.
Yet, his journey had only just begun. Dr. Alka Dev Marulkar became his mentor for twelve transformative years, refining his vocal prowess and teaching him the essence of being a performing artist. This period moulded Akshay into a proficient vocalist and performer.
