In the picturesque enclave of Althino, Panaji, where the serene landscape of Goa meets vibrant urban life, a young boy named Prasenjeet Dhage embarked on a journey that would see him become a beacon of legal activism and reform. Growing up in this charming neighborhood, Prasenjeet's early education was grounded at Dr. K.B. Hedgewar School. His formative years at Dhempe Higher Secondary further shaped his intellectual curiosity, eventually leading him to V.M. Salgaonkar College of Law. It was here that his fascination with law began to crystallize into a profound commitment to justice and human rights. Today, Prasenjeet not only practices as an advocate but also pursues an LL.M in Human Rights and Science & Technology at Goa University, embodying his dedication to effecting meaningful change.
The seeds of Prasenjeet's legal journey were sown during his 11th grade, a pivotal period when he encountered the transformative work of global institutions like the World Health Organization and the United Nations. These organizations, renowned for their roles in upholding the Rule of Law, captured his imagination and sparked a deeper interest in the legal field. However, it was his encounter with "My Experiments with Truth" by Mahatma Gandhi that truly galvanized his path.
Gandhi's journey from barrister to a global icon for peace and justice, his pioneering work in South Africa, and his role in mass movements in India resonated deeply with Prasenjeet. Gandhi's life, marked by his commitment to human rights and societal reform, became a source of inspiration, steering Prasenjeet towards a career that would combine law, politics, and activism.
