Rajkumar Kamat PIONEERING SUSTAINABILITY IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

From the serene village of Assagao nestled in northern Goa, Mr. Rajkumar Kamat's family ventured to the bustling capital city in pursuit of opportunities and a brighter future. Despite the move, their ancestral home remains a cherished gathering place for festive celebrations like Ganesh Chaturthi. Hailing from the esteemed Kamat Budkule lineage, Mr. Kamat faced numerous challenges on his path to becoming a renowned businessman, a prominent figure in society, and a captivating speaker who holds sway over the masses.

Today, he stands tall as the Chairman and Managing Director of EP Kamat Group, a stalwart in the business landscape of Goa. Additionally, Mr. Kamat occupies prestigious positions within BNI Goa, exemplifying his leadership prowess. His journey, from humble beginnings to a position of influence, serves as an inspiring narrative of perseverance and triumph. I've known Mr. Kamat since 1992 when he managed a thriving powder coating plant in Bicholim Industrial Estate.

Even then, he exuded humility and remained grounded-a trait that endures to this day despite his immense success in garnering name, fame, and fortune. When I broached the idea of an interview, he initially hesitated, citing shyness.. However, after some conversation, he graciously agreed to proceed. During our discussion, Mr. Kamat offered a candid glimpse into his background and struggles. "As I grew up, I realized that our family didn't inherit wealth," he reflected.

"Our path to prosperity required starting from scratch." He recounted how his father, skilled in radio repair, could have excelled in his Business had circumstances been different. However, his father's frequent travels to Mumbai for Mr.Kamat's medical care, related to a life-threatening disease coupled with mounting debts from hospitalizations, restricted their livelihood to a hand-to-mouth existence. Yet, despite these challenges, Mr.Kamat's father shielded the children from the harsh realities of life, prioritizing their well-being and education above all else.

Through Mr. Kamat's recollections, it's evident that his upbringing instilled in him a profound appreciation for perseverance and familial sacrifice, shaping him into the compassionate and determined individual he is today.
