The electric vehicle (EV) uptake in Singapore has doubled in the first five months of 2022, but the country still lags behind other more advanced EV markets. Only 2,942 of the 645,150 cars on the roads in 2021 were electric vehicles. The government has taken some steps to increase the adoption of EVs by providing tax incentives and grants to EV charging operators, but more aggressive measures may be necessary to push for higher adoption.
