SAVE TIME AND MONEY WITH THESE TRIED AND TESTED MEAL KITS

DINNER is sorted!

As a stay-at-home mum and freelance writer, deciding what to cook every night is tedious. I must admit that I can get stuck cooking the same meals every week or fortnight on rotation. A new cookbook I received as a gift has lost its novelty and is gathering dust on the shelves. And yes, the increased cost of living as grocery prices also increase only adds to financial stress.

So to break the monotony and save a dollar, I thought I’d subscribe to some of the latest meal kit providers over a year, spending a couple of months on each subscription, and see just how they stack up economically as well as gastronomically…

HELLOFRESH

HelloFresh Australia lives up to its name. “HelloFresh is a great option for those who are well versed in meal kits or want to try them for the first time,” says CEO Tom Rutledge.

The ingredients are fresh with a unique variety of herbs and flavourings with premium options such as barramundi or prawns being part of the core menu with no surcharge. You can choose meals depending on your life status (Single, Family & Kid-friendly, Seniors or Students), and diet (Vegetarian, Flexitarian, Carb and Calorie Smart). You can choose meals for up to five days a week with either two or four servings per meal. The six-step recipe cards are included with the delivery.
