EXTREME WEATHER PREPPING : How can I prepare my garden for unpredictable weather?

FOR WILD

Keeping on top of the weather at the moment seems like an impossible task – it’s hot and wet, leading to the threat of flood and bushfires. So how do you disaster-proof your garden to withstand the worst Mother Nature can throw at it?

BUSHFIRES

Bushfires are a scary and real threat for so many homes across Australia. The best way to reduce this threat is to remove the fuel a bushfire needs. This is especially true for surrounding areas to the home. Trim overhanging branches, mow surrounding lawns and reduce garden bed areas close to the perimeter of the house.

KEEP IT CLEAN

Have a good tidy up around the home as well, paying attention to other flammable material such as piles of mulch, old building timbers and gas bottles.
